Dr. Dor Vadas (DPhil)

Doctor for physiotherapy

Dr. Dor Vadas is a physiotherapist, rehabilitation clinician, educator, and researcher with extensive experience in musculoskeletal care, respiratory rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, and, in particular, the rehabilitation of individuals following stroke and traumatic brain injury. Practicing since 2008, he has developed broad clinical expertise across differentneurorehabilitation settings.
He is credentialed in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) and was certified as an international instructor of the Neuro-IFRAH approach for neurorehabilitation, having completed his training in California, USA.

For more than 15 years, Dr. Vadas has taught postgraduate courses in rehabilitation, supporting clinicians in translating clinical reasoning, current evidence, and structured assessment into effective patient care. His academic background includes undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral-level education in physiotherapy, including a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northeastern University in Boston, as well as advanced postgraduate degrees including a DPhil in Evidence-Based Health Care from the University of Oxford, UK. He has also taught physiotherapy in higher education and continues to contribute to professional development through international education and clinical mentorship.

Alongside his teaching and academic work, Dr. Vadas is the founder and clinical director of a large private rehabilitation center specializing in stroke and brain injury rehabilitation. His research focuses on clinical decision-making among physiotherapists and occupational therapists working in rehabilitation, with a particular interest in how evidence, professional judgement, and individual patient needs are integrated in everyday practice.
